Minutes - April 4, 2014

There wasn't a formal meeting on April 3, but work was done, as reported here by station manager Vern Wirka, WØVMP:

Thanks Matt and crew for getting the new computers and monitors installed in the WØQQQ ham shack.

I suggest you create an administrative login and a standard user login. The standard login would be used for most purposes, such as the logging program we discussed and for general Internet access.

The VHF and UHF repeaters are working properly and hopefully will become more active with all the new licensed hams following the on-campus test session scheduled for April 26. For those getting their General Class license, the Cushcraft vertical is working well on 10, 15, 17 and 20 meters. I hope to have the 80/40 meter dipole installed and tuned soon.

As discussed at our recent meetings, I have a plan ready for getting the Hy-Gain TH6 assembled, tuned and tested. I hope to get going on that after the new KSDB-FM transmitter is installed and on the air. Once the beam is ready for operation, I will start on the process of organizing assistance with getting the tower back up, standing tall and proud overlooking the Flint Hills.
