Mobile device remote wipe policy

Information Technology Services will never initiate the remote wipe feature available with active sync for mobile devices, unless a violation of university policy occurs that requires securing FERPA, HIPAA or other sensitive information. The need of such action will be made by the appropriate administrator with advice from University Legal Counsel. Final Approval will be by the Chief Information Officer (CIO). Any such remote wipe case will be reported by the CIO in the annual security report to the Faculty Senate. For more information see Office 365 Remote Wipe of Mobile Devices.

Activation of Office 365 accounts for faculty, staff, student employees, recently admitted students and some former students has been completed and should be accessible now. At this time some account data is still being migrated from Zimbra to Office 365.
