Leadership Development
Leadership Sparks
Practical leadership development for K-State teams
Leadership Sparks are interactive, 45-minute sessions that help Kansas State University teams build leadership skills they can use right away. Designed for leadership teams and teams whose leaders want to strengthen leadership capacity across the group, each Spark focuses on a topic relevant to the team’s work.
Leaders can select and combine sessions on topics such as leading through change, leadership and communication styles, generations in the workplace, and difficult conversations. Each session includes about 15–20 minutes of instruction, followed by discussion of real workplace scenarios and practice applying what participants have learned.
Leadership Sparks can be delivered online or in person on the Manhattan campus. In-person sessions on other K-State campuses are available with advance planning.

Leadership Coaching
Leadership coaching can support leaders as they navigate transitions, change, and strategic growth. At Kansas State University, coaching is a supportive, goal-focused partnership designed to help leaders grow in their roles and lead with greater confidence.
Sessions are led by a certified executive leadership coach and tailored to the leader’s goals. Coaching is a thought-provoking, collaborative process, distinct from therapy, performance evaluation, or consulting. Most engagements include 4–6 sessions over a few months.
This service is available on a limited basis and is intended for leaders in executive roles or leaders transitioning into strategic leadership roles. There is currently no cost for K-State leadership coaching.
