This session will explain how 529 plans work, the potential tax advantages, eligible education expenses, contribution options, and key considerations when deciding whether a 529 plan fits your financial goals.

9:30-10:30 a.m.	State Employee Health Plan	SEHP Active Employees This presentation will highlight the key changes to the State Employee Health Plan (SEHP) for 2027 and provide important benefit plan reminders to help employees make informed decisions during Open Enrollment. Topics will include plan and benefit changes, enrollment considerations, important deadlines, and helpful reminders to ensure employees review and select the coverage that best meets their needs for the upcoming plan year.
10:45-11:30 a.m.	Trey Hartwich, VOYA	ROTH 403b Contribution Features and Roth 403b Conversion Options in the KBOR 403b Plan(s) The presentation will explain the difference between pre-tax vs. after-tax or Roth Voluntary 403b contributions, addressing the benefits of each option for employees to consider when planning their retirement savings. The presentation will also explain the new option within the KBOR plan to convert pre-tax 403b balances to a Roth 403b status. Employees will gain the necessary insight to consider the best fit for their savings goals between pre-tax vs after-tax (Roth) 403b accounts.
11:45 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.	Justin Eslick, TIAA	Get a Head Start: Build a Strong Foundation for Saving Whether retirement is decades away or just around the corner, small steps today can make a big difference tomorrow. Join us for a practical look at your KBOR retirement plan, including the difference between pretax and Roth contributions, strategies for managing your portfolio, and how to get personalized advice tailored to your situation. Bring your questions — we'll leave plenty of time for answers.

Make an appointment for your flu shot from Lafene Health Center

Lafene will be offering influenza vaccines at the Annual Benefits Fair on Wednesday, Oct. 7.

Appointments are required and can be made on the myLAFENE+ patient portal. If you cannot login to your patient portal or make an appointment, please walk-in at the Benefits Fair and we will schedule you at that time. Please bring your insurance card and K-State ID to the event. Before the Benefits Fair, please log in to the patient portal, go to Medical Clearances, and complete the online Insurance Information Form (if you need to update your insurance), Non-Student Privacy Practice Notice, and the Treatment Agreement, if not already compliant.

You will receive a QR code that is required at your appointment. Please print a copy of the QR code and bring it with you or have the QR code from your portal available on your phone.

The morning of your appointment, a vaccine consent form will be issued to you in your patient portal. Please complete this form prior to arriving for your appointment.

Lafene will submit insurance claims on your behalf for influenza vaccines; however, Lafene is not part of the Medicaid or Medicare networks and will not file insurance claims to those entities. Any remaining balances after insurance will be the patient's responsibility.

If you can’t attend the Benefits Fair but would like to receive an influenza vaccine, at Lafene Health Center, schedule your appointment on the myLAFENE+ patient portal or call 785-532-6544.

Salina Benefits Fair Schedule

The Benefits team will be on campus in the morning, by appointment only. To schedule a meeting, please email benefits@k-state.edu.
