Open Enrollment
Benefits enrollment has closed for 2026. Only new employees can enroll at this time.
New hires or newly eligible employees must enroll during the open enrollment period for coverage for 2026, in addition to the enrollment they complete as a new hire for elections for the rest of 2025.

KPERS Optional Group Life Insurance Open Enrollment
As part of your benefits package, KPERS provides all benefit-eligible employees with life insurance equal to 150% of their annual salary. Employees also have the option to purchase Optional Group Life Insurance (OGLI) for additional coverage and pay the premiums via one payroll deduction per month. Open enrollment for OGLI is October 1-31, and is a separate process from your SEHP insurance enrollment. Most members can get guaranteed coverage during open enrollment. If you would like more than the guaranteed amount, you will need to answer a few health questions. Coverage selected during open enrollment is effective January 1, 2026. To apply for coverage, you must complete the paper application form and return it to the K-State HR Benefits team at benefits@ksu.edu, fax it to 785-532-6095, or hand-deliver it to Dykstra Hall on the Manhattan campus.
