 Shanna Legleiter

Shanna Legleiter

Shanna Legleiter currently serves as the Interim Chief Human Resources Officer where she provides strategic and operational human resources leadership to the Division of Human Resources. She joined the K-State family in 2014 as a Learning and Development Manager. Later, Shanna was promoted to the Director of Learning and Development where she worked to establish a supervisory program for K-State's supervisory workforce. She also served as the Associate Vice President for Human Resources at Kansas State University overseeing the areas of Talent Acquisition, Compensation and Organizational Effectiveness and Learning and Development.  Prior to K-State, Shanna spent a number of years at Barton Community College where she was a full-time coordinator/instructor of business programs and developed a variety of professional development training programs in the areas of supervision, customer service, and leadership excellence.  Shanna is a graduate of Barton Community College where she earned her Associate in Applied Science degree in Office Technology, Friends University where she earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Organizational Management and Leadership, and Emporia State University where she earned a Master in Science degree in Business Education.

Shanna holds a variety of certifications including Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI), Intercultural Development, Lean Six Sigma yellow belt, Korn Ferry Leadership Architect and Korn Ferry Voices 360. Shanna is a member of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) and College and University Professional Association of Human Resources (CUPA-HR). Additionally, Shanna was a founding member of the Kansas (CUPA-HR) chapter and she is engaged as an executive board member of the CUPA-HR Midwest Region Board.

Kati Wolfgang

Kati Wolfgang joined Kansas State University early in 2023 as the Director of Benefits in Human Resources.  She has a long career in human resources within the education industry, spending nearly 15 years as a Director of Human Resources at the Wamego school district. Kati is a KSU alumni, graduating with her Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration, with an emphasis in Human Resource Management, as well as a minor in Spanish.  Kati is passionate about helping employees navigate the intricacies of their benefits and truly cares about each employee's needs.  She puts that passion to work here on the behalf of all K-State employees.

Charlotte Self currently serves as the Director of Employee Relations & Engagement and ADA Coordinator of Human Resources.  She has been with K-State for over 25 years in the human resources area. Charlotte is in charge of providing consulting services on employee relations matters, including policies and procedures, leadership development, mediation, dispute and conflict resolution, developmental and performance coaching, team or individual engagements and interventions.  She supports managers and supervisors in creating action plan to address performance and behavioral issues and is a graduate of Manhattan Christian College, with a Bachelor’s Degree in Management and Ethics. 

 David Brown

David Brown is the Director of Operations in Human Resources. Before joining Kansas State in March of 2019, David spent 23 years working at the corporate headquarters of Payless ShoeSource, Inc.  During his time there, he worked his way up in the organization through various position.  Prior to leaving Payless, David was the HRIS, Payroll and Compliance Manager where his teams were responsible for the company's North America and Canada payrolls, the PeopleSoft HRMS system and the system’s employee self-service component across the enterprise. In addition, his team was responsible for the various interfaces between vendors, working with the ADP on quarter and year-end payroll tax filings and the company’s unemployment claims.  

David earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management from Indiana University of Pennsylvania.
