Flathead snake - Tantilla gracilis

• 7-8 inches total length
• Found on rocky hillsides of open prairie and woodland
• Activity largely unknown
• Feed on centipedes and soft bodied insect larvae

Interesting fact:

• The smallest species of snake in Kansas. Very secretive and little is known about them.
