Volunteers (known as K-State Purple Thumbs) play a vital role at the Gardens by assisting in actual gardening, office support, special events, or other activities. You don't have to be an expert gardener or expert anything to be of assistance. Some activities are seasonal while others are on-going. The amount of time you wish to volunteer is up to you. Of course, the Gardens benefit from your time and efforts; and, as a volunteer, you can meet people with similar interests and hone or gain new skills while becoming part of a gardening community,

Additional Volunteer Opportunities that Support the Garden
Riley County Extension Master Gardeners (RCEMG) are pivotal to the upkeep and care of the K-State Rose Garden Collection and other Gardens areas. They also provide guided tours throughout the K-State Gardens as a stop on the RCEMG Annual Garden Tour, which includes many private home gardens located within Manhattan. Visitors to the K-State Gardens are able to enjoy the Kaleidoscope Planter thanks to the generous donation from the Master Gardeners.
