Kids K-State Garden Club - Planning is underway for 2026

The K-State Gardens invite kids (grades 1-3) to an introduction to gardening. Five 50 minute Saturday sessions from 10:00-10:50ish a.m. starting in April are planned to spark interest, present gardening basics, and have fun with hands-on activities.

Dates for 2026 are to be determined. Possible session topics are:

1) All about soil and composting. Veggie planting session outdoors

2) What Do Kids and Plants Both Need? Bean germination take home project, check for outdoor seed germination.

3) Climates Around the World, Plants and Terrariums, Check planted veggies.

4) Pollinators - Learn About Bees.

5) Harvesting Veggies, Review, Tour

Sessions are limited to 20 kids each. Younger children should be accompanied. Sessions are free but donations are very welcome. Registration is necessary. Call 785-532-3271 or email ksugardens@k-state.edu for questions or registration.
