Amanda Hoelting
Major: Kinesiology (Pre-OT)
What is your intended career path? I want to become an Occupation Therapist and work with special needs kids, preferably using my Spanish as well.
What K-State First Program were you involved in? Spanish In Action Cat Community
How did K-State First affect you as a first-year student? It helped me become more comfortable in the college classroom setting and emphasized the importance of making connections with people in my classes.
Why do you enjoy K-State First Student Advisory Council? I want to help spread the word about how amazing and beneficial being a part of a K-State First program can be and the Student Advisory Council does just that!
I am especially passionate about helping… special needs children. I have a younger cousin with Down’s Syndrome and he is a huge inspiration in my life and I’d love to help kids like him realize their potential.
My top five strengths are… Developer, Restorative, Empathy, Discipline, Context
What top strength is used at K-State First Student Advisory Council? I would say Context because I will have to look back on my K-State First experiences and figure out a way to continuously improve on them for the next year’s students.
What are your interests and involvements on campus? I am a member of Alpha Delta Pi sorority, a member of the Pre-OT club and am currently looking for more ways to get involved, especially with organizations that relate to my future career goal.
