Community well-being
Building stronger, healthier communities across Kansas
Community well-being drives everything we do in the Office of External Engagement, directly supporting the K-State Opportunity Agenda and our land-grant commitment to serving all Kansans. Through coordinated efforts across engaged scholarship, government relations, interdisciplinary programs, K-State Extension, military and veterans affairs, and civil rights/title IX, we work to advance health, safety and prosperity for individuals and communities throughout Kansas and beyond.
Our comprehensive approach addresses the interconnected challenges facing Kansas communities, from healthcare access and educational equity to economic development and social justice. By leveraging K-State's research excellence and community partnerships, we create lasting solutions that strengthen the foundation of thriving communities.
Advancing the K-State Opportunity Agenda
The K-State Opportunity Agenda identifies critical drivers for community health and well-being that guide our work: establishing community sense of place, improving the health and wellness of communities, building more resilient communities, reducing health disparities and improving outcomes, enhancing education access and outcomes, supporting economic prosperity and meeting the needs of diverse and disadvantaged communities.
