Description:

familyThe K-State Family Center serves the Manhattan and surrounding communities by providing therapy services on a range of issues including trauma, grief and loss, depression and anxiety, child focused family related issues, violence, etc. The faculty and students provide home-based family therapy training for clinicians across the state through contracts with SRS and KHS. Through our work with Smart Start we are providing home-based family play therapy to families identified through the Junction City Parents as Teachers office. These services provide civilian and military families with young children the skills to manage the changes and traumas life brings. Additionally, the Family Center engages the K-State community providing therapy services for students, faculty and staff on a sliding fee scale. The Center provides therapy services on a self-referral basis or in collaboration with K-State HR to assist in resolving workplace issues. Faculty are engaged in research on best-practice models of therapy as well as providing outreach for the surrounding communities. This all contributes to enhancing a positive work place environment by assisting with individuals, couples and families in resolving their personal issues that may negative impact their work and academic performance.
