Dr. Sabreen Gad earned her Ph.D in Geophysics at Saint Louis University in 2007. Her dissertation research focused on: 1) investigating the geological and tectonic evolution of the Wadi Kid area in the Sinai Peninsula, Egypt using field studies and remote sensing data (ASTER), 2) Lithological mapping in the Eastern Desert of Egypt using Landsat thematic mapper (TM).
Her academic work focuses on undergraduate education, helping students understand Earth’s structure, geological history, natural processes, and environmental challenges. Her teaching includes courses such as Earth in Action, Earth Through Time, Geology of the National Parks, Environmental Geology and Natural Disasters. She joined Kansas State University in 2010 and currently serves as a Teaching Associate Professor. In recognition of her contributions to student learning and mentorship, she received the 2020 & 2023 Geology Department Undergraduate Teaching and Mentoring Award.
