Welcome

We’ve been helping students learn about geology, geography and environmental science since the 1860s. Circumstances have changed since then, but our dedication to delivering excellent in teaching, research and engagement hasn’t. Our aim is to equip our students with the knowledge and understanding required to help our society meet its demands for energy, minerals, water and food while responsibly managing our environment.

As we look forward with a fresh approach to delivering undergraduate education in our fields, we also enjoy looking back at our mission and history.
