Multicultural Student Organizations
DMSA Department Student Organizations and Events
Diversity and Multicultural Student Affairs supports over 40 Multicultural Student Organizations, and directly advises 8. These organizations represent historically underrepresented students. MSOs provide opportunities for students to gain leadership skills, learn about academic resources and increase cultural awareness.
- African Student Union (ASU)
- Asian American Student Union (AASU)
- Black Student Union (BSU)
- Gender Collective
- Hispanic American Leadership Organization (HALO)
- Native American Student Body (NASB)
- Out in S.T.E.M. (oSTEM)
- Sexuality and Gender Alliance (SAGA)
Multicultural Student Organization Leadership Council (MSOLC)
Each MSO is represented on the Multicultural Student Organization Leadership Council. The mission of the MSOLC is to provide members the space to collaborate with other multicultural student groups, promote their academic and intellectual growth, as well as foster positive relationships among all students.
Intercultural Leadership Council (ILC)
The ILC is a joint partnership between DMSA and the K-State Student Governing Association (SGA). The ILC provides student awareness and input to DMSA in the areas of student advocacy, student access and success, and cultural competency development; and provides input and guidance for student diversity & inclusion programming, events, and activities. The group also works to provide support and input to the great campus community regarding diversity and engaging students.
Student Organizations can submit a funding request for on-campus events to DMSA by completing the DMSA Funding Request Form. All funding requests must be submitted to Diversity & Multicultural Student Affairs at least 21 business days prior to the event. Funding request will be considered up to the amount of $200.00.
Please return all forms to Kevin Santos Flores, either by email (firstname.lastname@example.org) or dropping it off in room 021 of the Morris Family Multicultural Student Center.
