Reed Middleton

Reed has focused her educational and professional experiences on global food systems since growing up in the diverse agriculture of the Pacific Northwest. She joins the CRCIL team with a background in agricultural policy, program coordination, and curriculum development thanks to work at Kansas Grain Sorghum/National Sorghum Producers and Kansas State’s Food Security Scholars. Reed earned her B.S. in Agricultural Economics at Kansas State University with specialties in Global Food Systems Leadership, Leadership Studies, and Spanish. Her interest in international work was confirmed after a study abroad in Uruguay and summer assistantship in Ghana with Monitoring, Evaluation, and Technical Support Services (METSS). She went on to complete an MSc Food Economics & Marketing at the University of Reading, researching the impact of women’s empowerment on household food security.
