COVID-19 | Preparations for the Polytechnic Campus
In conjunction with university communication regarding COVID-19, below is information specific to the K-State Polytechnic Campus.
What is the process for getting my personal possessions and moving out of the residence halls?
Given the move to remote instruction for the remainder of spring semester, Housing and Dining Services will close residence halls and dining centers beginning March 20; the closing process will extend through a 10-day period. An email was sent to residence hall residents with details on an orderly and structured move-out process.
Will refunds occur?
Due to the university's move to remote course instruction for the remainder of the spring 2020 semester, Housing and Dining Services will suspend all resident services in the residence halls and dining centers.
Students who have not lived in the residence halls at any time after spring break will receive a prorated credit of their spring 2020 semester room and meal plan charge. The credit will be applied to any balances in the student's KSIS account before being refunded to the student. To ensure refunds are processed correctly, all students must make sure their permanent address in KSIS is up to date.
How will Professional Pilot Flight Operations be impacted?
The state of Kansas is currently in a stay-at-home order effective March 30 through April 19. K-State Polytechnic is determining the impact this will have on the planned restart of flight operations April 6. Please continue to monitor your K-State webmail for further updates.
Flight Operations staff continue discussions with our local FSDO on options available for continuity of academic progress during this unusual time. At this time, we are hopeful that we will be able to continue with limited operations through the rest of the semester, with priorities going to graduating students with full operations running as soon as possible.
Please contact John Dahl, flight operations coordinator (firstname.lastname@example.org or 785-826-2979) with specific questions.
How will UAS Flight Operations be impacted?
UAS faculty and staff are closely monitoring and assessing the situation, and exploring options once we are permitted to resume limited flight operations. Please frequently check your corresponding Canvas course for updates from your faculty. Also, feel free to contact your instructor via email and/or the Executive Director of UAS Flight & Operations, Kurt Carraway, at email@example.com. Please continue to monitor your @ksu.edu email for further updates and guidance.
