Cleaning and disinfecting

Guidance

Enhanced cleaning and disinfecting protocols will remain in place for frequently touched surfaces at entrances and exits of buildings, in common hallways, stairwells, restrooms and elevators by facilities custodial crews.

Classrooms and other learning spaces will no longer be disinfected with each occupancy change. Disinfecting supplies will be available in classrooms for faculty and students to use as needed.

The university recommends frequently touched surfaces within office/work areas, such as equipment, hardware, furniture and small appliances, to be routinely cleaned and disinfected as needed based on traffic by departmental employees as assigned by supervisors.

Cleaning and disinfecting efforts will be conducted in accordance with Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, or CDC, guidelines.

Please see COVID-19 Cleaning and Disinfecting Guidance for detailed information on cleaning protocols.

Enhanced cleaning and disinfecting services are available for shared spaces occupied by individuals who have tested positive for COVID-19 or have COVID-19-related symptoms. The Custodial Services COVID-19 response team cleans and disinfects in accordance with CDC and Global Biorisk Advisory Council protocols.
