Heidi McNeil, MA, LPC
Role: Therapist
Education:
BS: Liberty University, Psychology
MA: Liberty University, Clinical Mental Health Counseling
Theoretical Orientation/Professional Interests: I take a curiosity-based approach to therapy, meaning that the most important thing in my work is making sure I understand my clients’ perspectives. With a strong person-centered foundation, I use psychodynamic concepts to explore both sources of stress and possible coping skills. This yields insight into why we have the responses we have while providing information that can be used in practical ways. Additionally, I have a particular interest in working with neurodiverse individuals and finding ways to make higher education more accessible so this population does not have to choose between mental health and pursuing their dreams.
Personal Interests: In my free time, I enjoy all things creative (current hobbies include printmaking and scrapbooking) and spending time with my family.
