Content submissions

For your artwork to be made available to all digital sign administrators (who decide what content they want to play on their signs), we need it formatted to the standards below.

If you have a video you would like to submit, please email the file to video@k-state.edu for review.

Sizing

Please create your asset in two orientations as we have both landscape and portrait signs in use across the university:

  • Landscape: 1920 pixels wide by 1080 pixels high at no less than 96 pixels per inch resolution.
  • Portrait: 1920 pixels high by 1080 pixels wide at no less than 96 pixels per inch resolution.

Naming Conventions

Please provide your artwork in JPG or PNG format using this file naming convention:

YYMMDD-YYMMDD DEPT_ShortDescription_H (or _V) where the first YYMMDD is the start date, the second YYMMDD is the end date, “DEPT” is a short unit or group designator (e.g. "SPI"), “ShortDescription” is a description of the content/event and “H” indicates horizontal (landscape) orientation and “V” is for vertical (portrait) orientation.

Design Considerations

Be advised we typically display assets for 7-10 seconds, so you’ll want to keep your text simple so it can be read easily. We recommend you add a QR code to steer viewers to a web page with additional information, if necessary, but keep the date, time, location (“who, what, when, where, and why?”) on the slide if at all possible.

We recommend you follow AP Style for text and stay with the color palette provided in the University Brand Guide.

Please complete the included form. If your files meet university standards, they will be added to the university playlist, and digital sign administrators will be notified within 48 hours of submission.
