Career Fairs

Each year, participant feedback suggests that faculty encouragement and/or class assignments are among the top reasons that students show up for career fairs. Here are ways you can support student involvement--

Encourage the use of the Studio for resume critiques and other career fair preparation. Many resources are also available on the Career Center's website.
Provide extra credit for participating in the career fair. Use the Career Center's ready-made class assignment to create a meaningful learning experience.
Assign the career fair in place of class time. Provide the Career Center with a roster and we can verify student attendance.
Accompany your class to the career fair. Help get them oriented after check-in and/or introduce them to alumni who are attending the fair.
Offer flexibility for students' time out of class when reasonable. Help students learn that with advance planning and communication, some scheduling adjustments are possible.
