  • Jim and Fran gave background for why we need the SSN. Allows KSU to be more connected with other services, that can help us collect past due amounts. 2011 fine from feds of 109K, 2013 fine was 130K. Is not required for applicants, but now will have to collect for all domestics. International and undocumented will not be required to provide. The application process does notify applicants that the SSN will be required if they want federal aid or will be using education credit on their taxes.
  • Current students that don’t have an SSN will be surveyed through iSIS to provide it. Around 25th class day in fall or spring, those lacking an ITIN or SSN.
  • Several iSIS Taskforce members had questions about when tuition fees are due and how the timing works.

Discussion, demo, Q&A: KSU Advisor Center - Rel. 2 and 3 (Dandaneau, Blake, Letourneau)

  • Diana reviewed the KSU Advisor page. Currently have released up to phase 2. John Letourneau demo’d the functionality up to now. Working on phase 3, mostly will be advising notes. Guidelines for using advising notes will be reviewed and approved by the academic advising community. More reporting functionality and different types of notes. Will bring Susan Cooper in to make sure FERPA is followed.

Registrar's Office Updates (Pfaff)

  • Bundle 36; new field "Advisor Percentage" in Student Advisor Page.
    • In production by Feb 22nd. New field, no edits, can enter any # you want, can add up to more than 100%. Not sure how it would be used, however if you use it at a department level you need to communicate to use it the same way. Not a required field.
    • Other items are re-delivered, Oracle delivered some advising notes, will be hiding those so not to confuse with the KSU advising notes.

  • University Honors Program – Several REG staff met with the Honors Program staff to demo options for tracking. There was much discussion. The program decided to use a plan code to track honors program students. NUHP plan code within Undergraduate Studies will be used.

  • Faculty Center class roster request to add enrollment date/time
    • Proposed adding it to the back office Faculty roster. May also add the source so faculty can see if the student did it themselves, quick enroll, etc. Group approved and liked the proposed changes.
