Updates and reminders (Gould by Delker)

Dec 23 is grade submission deadline.

Nielsen posted article in K-State Today on Nov. 11. Another article will be posted in early Dec. Continue to remind faculty about this change.

Cardwell 101 upgrade

CW 101 will have an extensive remodel this summer, beginning the week of final exams if timeline can be worked out with Math Dept., and will be unavailable for classes summer 2014.

Durland 1073 seat replacement

Seats will be replaced and classroom will be unavailable for classes summer 2014.

Registrar’s Office Updates

Zach’s list (Swartz)

Dismissal list will be monitored and corrected to prevent student(s) with no program/plan being on every college’s HWD list.

Early access to enrollment for University Honors Program members is proceeding without problem. 411 of 690 have enrolled; 220 are freshmen.

Enrollment appointment time in iSIS is now stated as “Eligible to enroll on DATE/TIME.”

Advising Survey posting date will not change, but service indicator won’t be posted until survey is available.

CUAS recommends making the survey more accessible. Currently it is in the “Other Academics” drop-down menu.

College of Architecture, Planning & Design wants their graduate students to complete the Advising Survey. The Advising Survey is not posted for graduate students. Mike Lynch will work with Registrar’s Office.

Bundle 30 bug (large rosters had slow grade dropbox) has been fixed.

End of Semester memo will be out by end of month.

In Enrollment Request Search, Success/Message/Error Tab Fields can be moved closer to Tab Fields 1-7 and 8-11 using “Personalize” to reorder field sequence.

Zach is working on the advisee removal process for students no longer enrolled.

Adviser feedback sessions in Salina were well received

DARS uAchieve Upgrade (Cooper)

  1. Brief demo showed no change in access. “System” will run a weekly DARS audit for every student which will save time for students and advisers. Pop-ups have been an issue. Installation of Adobe is required. Exceptions Training will be Monday, Nov. 18 in Fairchild Hall. Client will be disabled December 9. Every browser works but may have different resolution of issues. The Advising Report will be deactivated on Dec. 9.

Current Projects

Course and Curriculum Approval Process Improvement (Delker/Pence/Swartz)

Committee will meet on Nov. 19. Karen Pence reported on issues raised by those who work most closely with course and curriculum process. Zach Swartz reported on information gathered about products used at other institutions

Academic Users Needs Assessment – Adviser Feedback Sessions (Blake)

  • Feedback sessions were held in Salina and with the College of Agriculture, and two general sessions will be held in Manhattan. Screen drafts are being shared.
  • Faculty feedback will be solicited late next year.
  • Remind advisers about the feedback sessions. Scott Schlender is contacting graduate advisers

Comprehensive Undergraduate Advising Screen (Blake)

Original idea was a single comprehensive screen; now evolving into a K-State Advising Center with more functionality than current Adviser Center. Design is to be finalized by end of December or January, followed by development. Anticipated roll-out is by the end of 2014.

Acquire Missing SSNs (Blake)

1098T forms require Social Security Numbers, and K-State was fined by IRS because of missing, inaccurate SSNs. Possible solutions have been reported to Fran Willbrandt.

Other

ISO and OME are looking at enterprise-wide solution for card swipe technology.
