Biomanufacturing Laboratory and Training Facility

Kansas State University’s Biomanufacturing Laboratory and Training Facility gives students hands-on experience with the tools, techniques, and analytical methods used in modern biomanufacturing. Located in Seaton Hall, the facility supports workforce development, industry collaboration, and Kansas’s growing biomanufacturing ecosystem.

Current research

mScarlet chromatography

Students are working to design and scale a process for producing mScarlet in E. coli along with cell harvesting, lysis and mScarlet purification. They are also developing the protocols needed for teaching and training in BLTF, which will continue to benefit the lab for years to come.
