About the Biomanufacturing Training and Education Initiative

The Biomanufacturing Training and Education Initiative received funding of $5M allocated by the state of Kansas to support biomanufacuring training and education in the state. Funds were used to:

  • Outfit and renovate space in Seaton Hall where courses are currently being taught.
  • Purchase equipment for faculty who do research in the biosciences.
  • Currently support a constellation hire of faculty who will focus on biomanufacturing.

The Biomanufacturing Training and Education Initiative at Kansas State University is dedicated to establishing state-of-the-art training, research and manufacturing facilities that foster innovation and collaboration. Led by the Office of the Vice President for Research, this ambitious project unites expert faculty researchers and skilled staff from across the university, cultivating an environment that advances academic exploration while accelerating practical advancements in biomanufacturing, biosecurity and defense.
