High-Energy Soundtrack for Wildcat Hoops
The K-State Cat Band is the spirited pep ensemble that energizes Bramlage Coliseum during every home men's and women's basketball game. Composed of enthusiastic student musicians from various majors, the Cat Band delivers electrifying performances that amplify the game-day atmosphere and rally Wildcat fans. With a repertoire ranging from traditional fight songs to contemporary hits, the band plays a pivotal role in creating an unforgettable basketball experience.
Led by Dr. Alex Wimmer and Dr. Zack Deininger, the Cat Band offers students the opportunity to showcase their musical talents while supporting K-State athletics. Members perform at home games and may have the chance to travel to Big 12 and NCAA tournaments, representing Kansas State University on a larger stage. Participation is open to all students through a video audition process, and the ensemble can be taken for zero or one academic credit. With minimal rehearsal commitments, the Cat Band provides a flexible and rewarding way to stay involved in music and school spirit.
