Joseph Horne
Joseph is from Cedar Rapids, IA, and is currently in the second year of his master’s degree at Kansas State studying euphonium performance with Dr. Steven Maxwell. Joseph graduated from the University of Iowa in 2022 with a bachelor’s degree in music performance where he studied with Professor John Manning. During his time at Iowa, he was a member of the Iowa Symphony Band, the Iowa Pep Band, the tuba-euphonium ensemble, and numerous chamber groups. Joseph was also a four-year member of the Hawkeye Marching Band, where he was awarded the rank of honor and served as baritone section leader for two years. Joseph is a member of both Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia and the International Tuba and Euphonium Association.
Joseph began to teach low brass lessons while a student at the University of Iowa. Shortly after graduating with his bachelor’s, he became an instructor of low brass at West Music in Coralville, IA, where he taught students in 5th grade up through adulthood. Since beginning his graduate studies at Kansas State, Joseph has continued to teach low brass students in Manhattan and the surrounding area.
Joseph lives in Manhattan with his partner, Emily, and their two cats, Millie and Mollie.
