Amy is originally from Salina, Kansas, and graduated from Kansas State University in 2018 with a Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education, along with a minor in Leadership and Mathematics. During her time at K-State, Amy was deeply involved with the Pride of Wildcat Land, spending five years as a member of the Color Guard. She served on the leadership team for three of those years, culminating in her role as head section leader in her final year. Amy credits much of her personal and professional success to the experiences and leadership skills she developed through her time in the Marching Band.

After graduation, Amy remained in Manhattan and began her career as a Mathematics Teacher at Junction City High School. She has continued to teach there, instructing courses such as Algebra 2, Business Math, and Technical Mathematics 1 & 2. Amy is passionate about helping her students succeed and enjoys making complex concepts accessible and engaging.

Amy is married to Stone Tighe, a retired Army veteran who is currently attending Kansas State University. Together, they share a deep love for K-State football and rarely miss a game, bonding over their shared excitement for the Wildcats. Amy is incredibly grateful to be a part of a program that brings so much joy to the university community and is proud to continue her connection to K-State through her work and her love for the school.
