Hispanic/Latino Student Scholarships

If you know of Hispanic/Latino students who are looking for financial aid or have a college age student yourself, the following web-sites are excellent sources of financial assistance.

ALIANZA 2017-2018 Undergraduate Student Scholarship Application. Deadline: April 26, 2017 by 5pm.

ALIANZA will sponsor four (4) $250 undergraduate student scholarships for the 2017-2018 academic year. Eligible candidates are currently enrolled undergraduates with a 2.5 GPA or higher. Scholarship recipients must attend K-State as undergraduate students during the 2017-2018 academic year. Previous recipients of this award are not eligible. ALIANZA 2017-2018 Professor Douglas K. Benson Scholarship. Deadline: April 26, 2017 by 5pm.

The Professor Douglas K. Benson Scholarship is a $500 student scholarship for the 2017-2018 academic year. Eligible candidates are currently enrolled full time students with a 3.0 GPA or higher. The scholarship recipient must attend K-State as undergraduate student during the 2017-2017 academic year. Click on the link above for more information. 

With this scholarship, ALIANZA honors Dr. Benson for his tireless advocacy on diversity issues at KSU and beyond, and for his continuous activism on behalf of Latino culture and heritage.

National Hispanic Scholarship Fund
The Hispanic Scholarship Fund (HSF) is the nation's leading organization supporting Hispanic higher education. HSF was founded in 1975 with a vision to strengthen the country by advancing college education among Hispanic Americans-the largest minority segment of the U.S. population.

The Hispanic College Fund is the product of a dedicated group of Hispanic businessmen and women who were inspired to respond to the alarming growth in the number of talented Hispanic students who could not afford a college education.

League of United Latin American Citizens
Since 1932 LULAC Councils have been selling tacos, tamales, having dances, etc., to raise monies for scholarships that are given to Hispanic students meeting certain guidelines. Several years ago the LULAC National Educational Service Centers (LNESC), began the LULAC National Scholarship Fund.


Hispanic Scholarship Fund Institute
Since 1990 the Department of Energy and, more specifically, the Office of Environmental Management, has invested in the talents of promising Latino students through the Environmental Management Scholarship.


Luso-American Education Foundation
The Luso-American Education Foundation was organized by a group of citizens of Portuguese origin in July 1963.


Portuguese Heritage Scholarship Foundation
The Portuguese Heritage Scholarship Foundation (PHSF) is a non-profit educational organization established in 1989 to promote education within the Portuguese-American community.
