Navigate Notes Glossary
The "Note Reasons" feature in Navigate Notes helps categorize interactions on a specific topic. Reports provide useful data for advisors and administrators supporting student success based on specific Note Reasons. Use the table below for reference on applying one of more relevant Note Reasons as part of your documentation process. Multi-select if applicable, or opt to leave blank is none are applicable.

Step-by-Step Guide
Use the Reports Function in Navigate to locate Notes by topic (Note Reason) or specific text string used in the body of the Note. Use this step-by-step guide on how to access Reports along with examples.
- Click Reports in the left-hand menu of Navigate. The icon is a document with a hand lens.
- Click on Standard Reports.
- Under Report Type, select Notes Report.
Example 1: Search by Note Reason
Remember to review the filters, adjust as needed, then Run Report
- Review Filter Description and edit as necessary. Click Generate Filters to edit.
- In Data Filters, fill out the field, condition and value. Click Run Report.
Example 2: Search by Note Content
This is great for looking up a unique Text String within the body of a Note.
- Review Filter Description. To edit, click Generate Filters.
- In Data Filters, fill out the field, condition and value. Click Run Report.
