K-State Student Union | Cat Trax

This position reports to the department of Student Programs and Involvement and is supervised by the Coordinator/Student Leadership and Engagement. It is a part-time student position, non-excempt.

Supervisory responsibility: Students-only

Work schedule: Not to exceed 20 hours/week when school is in session. This is a twelve (12) month position.

Job Summary

Responsible for supporting the university’s Cat Trax program that guides students in making the most of their college experience by engaging in four key areas: Student involvement, health and well-being, career readiness, and personal growth.

Qualifications

  • Be at least 16 years of age (18 years of age for maintenance department)
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Current enrollment in a master’s program at Kansas State University
  • Enrolled in no fewer than six credit hours
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Organizational and time management skills

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the management and facilitation of the Cat Trax program.
  • Develop and facilitate programming to promote student understanding and utilization of Cat Trax.
  • Lead communication and marketing of the program, in coordination with the Union’s marketing department.
  • Lead program assessment practices.
  • Provide administrative and programmatic support to the department.
  • Support university student recruitment and enrollment strategies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned and instructed.
  • Provide assignments, direction and support to student employee(s) in department. Assess performance.
  • Attend and actively participate in meetings, committees, and such as directed.
  • Coordinate and provide direction to Cat Trax student ambassador volunteers.

Skills and Abilities/Physical Demands

Work in a general office environment and event venues, to include outdoor settings. Remain seated/stand 40% of shift. Finger dexterity/movement for typing, picking up small objects and utilizing varying equipment. Hearing for average or normal conversations and to receive information. Sight to view computer, documents, and general office machinery. Verbal and written communication to present, convey and exchange information and ideas accurately and quickly. Move, transport and position equipment weighing up to 20 pounds. There are no hazardous or significantly unpleasant physical conditions.
