The President's Award for Excellence in Undergraduate Academic Advising
The President's Award for Excellence in Undergraduate Academic Advising recognizes and rewards professional academic advisors who demonstrate excellence in academic advising at K-State. The award recognizes professional advisors whose primary role is the direct delivery of advising services to undergraduate students. Recipients will receive a monetary award of $2,000, supported by the Provost's Office.
Eligibility Criteria
- Any K-State professional academic advisor whose primary role is academic advising of undergraduate students.
- Nominees must have been employed at K-State at time of nomination for a minimum of three years in a professional advisor role.
- Previous award winners are ineligible.
- Nominees must have support of their direct supervisor and have a minimum of 'Meets Expectations' on most recent performance review.
Nominations
Nominations are accepted beginning December 1. All nomination materials must be submitted via Qualtrics by March 1. Questions can be directed to Pamela Erickson, executive director of academic advising.
- Nomination letter (limit 3 pages)
- One support letter from professional colleague (limit 2 pages)
- Support letter from student(s). A minimum of one letter and a maximum of three letters are required; limit 2 pages each
- Statement of support, if applicable. If neither the nomination or support letter is from the nominee's direct supervisor, supervisor must supply a statement of support
- Current resume
- Advising philosophy statement from nominee (limit one page)
- Additional supporting materials from nominee's work (limit total three pages)
- Materials developed by the nominee, such as student communications, advising tools, presentations, publications or other materials demonstrating how the nominee has exceeded expectations in their advising work
