Sydney Fetkenhauer

During my undergraduate career at St. Norbert College, I worked as a Study Abroad Student Assistant in the Center for Global Engagement and spent a semester in Toledo, Spain. I lived with a host family and took all my classes in Spanish, which allowed me to be immersed in the culture and drastically improve my language skills. I joined K-State Education Abroad in January of 2023 where I have had the opportunity to work with students across our various academic colleges and support them in finding international opportunities that align with their academic, professional, and personal goals. Since being at K-State, I studied abroad again in Pamplona, Spain as part of my MA in Modern Languages, with a specialization in Spanish Language Acquisition. I’m grateful to have participated in other professional development opportunities in Europe and Latin America which have enhanced my advising and faculty-led program coordination skills. My favorite part of my work is helping students expand their worldview and consider how they can engage internationally in their future careers!
