In 2019, I earned my BA in Linguistics and Spanish from Iowa State University. As an undergrad, I spent a life-changing semester abroad in Cáceres, Spain. There, I lived with a wonderful host mother, took classes at the local university, and completed an internship as a teaching assistant at an English language academy. This internship sparked my interest in teaching English abroad, and in 2022, I earned my MA in TESL/Applied Linguistics from Iowa State.
Shortly after graduating in 2022, I went off to Japan to teach English through the JET Program. I taught at an elementary and junior high school in a rural village for three years. During this time, I came to realize that my favorite part of teaching English as a Foreign Language is the cross-cultural exchange that takes place. Now, I’m excited to help K-State students experience new cultures and have transformative experiences around the world!
