Mind Mapping
Mind Mapping is a visualization technique to help you visualize and understand a topic. A mind map starts with a central idea in the center with related topics and ideas branching out from the center. These central ideas can include:
- A project you are working on
- An idea/concept from class that you are trying to understand
- An essay topic
Ideally, a mind map will help you see the bigger picture and how concepts connect.
Instructions
- Start with the central idea
- Write down the main topic or theme you want to explore. This is your starting point.
- Add first-level ideas
- Around the central idea, list a few words or short phrases that relate directly to it. These are your primary branches.
- Expand with details
- For each first-level idea, add more specific information or examples. These become secondary branches.
- Continue building connections
- Add additional layers as needed, breaking down ideas into smaller parts or related concepts.
