KAWSE to host Career Chat with Dinah Davison
Join the K-State Office for the Advancement of Women in Science and Engineering, or KAWSE, for a Career Chat on Feb. 27.
Career Chats are opportunities for students and staff to hear from current professionals in the field regarding their experiences navigating STEM as a woman or other marginalized identity.
On Feb. 27, hear from Dinah Davison, a postdoctoral researcher and scientist at K-State, from 10-11 a.m. in the Fairchild Hall conference room, Room 215.
Davison is a National Science Foundation postdoctoral fellow whose research focuses on how interactions between genes, development and the environment have shaped the evolution of differentiated multicellularity. She is conducting her postdoctoral research with Brad Olson. Davison received her doctorate in ecology and evolutionary biology from the University of Arizona, where she worked with Rick Michod to examine the plastic development and evolution of somatic cells in the volvocine algae. Davison obtained a master's degree in evolutionary biology from the University of Bath and a bachelor's degree in animal biology from the University of California, Davis.
Davison will discuss her career path, as well as NSF funding opportunities and grant writing tips for graduate students.
