CyberCorps: Scholarship for Service deadline is March 8

Submitted by Madeline Mathis

Cybercorps

The K-State Center for Cybersecurity and Trustworthy Systems is accepting applications for the CyberCorps: Scholarship for Service.

The scholarship supports students who are interested in the field of cybersecurity — areas of study that support or enhance the national critical infrastructure, electronic and computer systems security, user awareness, public policy, etc. No prior experience in cybersecurity is necessary or expected.

Scholarship benefits include all tuition and fees paid, a stipend of $27,000 to $37,000 per year, and $6,000 per year in professional development funding for up to three years. Recipients are expected to maintain at least a 3.2 GPA in a cybersecurity-related program of study, pass a background check for a security clearance and work for a federal executive agency one year for each year they receive funding.

Scholars form lifelong friendships with their peers and foster active connections with state and federal agencies. They also become a part of a network of more than 2,600 Scholarship for Service graduates from more than 70 institutions who chose to serve their country by doing what they love.

This year's deadline is Friday, March 8. For further details and the application form visit kcats.k-state.edu/sfs/. Contact Eugene Vasserman at eyv@k-state.edu with any questions you may have. All are welcome.
