A.Q. Miller School of Media and Communication hosting support session for students to process faculty loss

In partnership with the A.Q. Miller School of Media and Communication, the Office of Student Support and Accountability will facilitate an event at 3:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 26, in Room 126 of Nichols Hall for students to process the loss of Ian Punnett. Representatives will be available to support students and connect them with campus resources. All students are welcome to attend in person or via Zoom. Punnett, professor of practice in the A.Q. Miller School of Media and Communication and advisor to the Wildcat 91.1 radio station, passed away on Dec. 22, 2023. 

The Office of Student Support and Accountability continues to offer support and guidance to students experiencing a wide variety of difficulties. The office is in 201 Holton Hall. Counseling services for students are available at Counseling and Psychological Services, or CAPS, at Lafene Health Center. Students can talk to their on-call staff at 785-532-6927 or by visiting them during their hours, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. View additional resources and information

After business hours, students can access immediate support through the TELUS Health Student Support app, which offers 24/7 free telehealth support via phone and chat.
