Short-term disability insurance now available

Submitted by Stephanie Harvey

Short-term disability insurance is now available to Kansas State University employees through a partnership between AFLAC and the K-State Federal Credit Union. AFLAC is offering their best-reduced rates to K-State employees, payable through an existing or newly opened account with the K-State Federal Credit Union.

Short-term disability protects your income in case of an illness — including maternity leave — or an off-the-job accident that requires time away from work. It starts immediately for accidents, offers a choice of seven-, 14- or 30-day elimination period for illness and choice of a three or six-month benefit period. It has guaranteed coverage regardless of pre-existing conditions.

Additional insurance plans available through the K-State Federal Credit Union and AFLAC partnership include cancer, critical care and recovery and accident insurance.
