Wind Ensemble concert with Blue Valley Northwest April 25

The K-State Wind Ensemble and Blue Valley Northwest Wind Ensemble will present a concert at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 25 in McCain Auditorium. The concert is free to the public.

This concert will highlight works by Boyer, Ticheli and Shostakovich, which the Wind Ensemble recently performed at the John F. Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C. Amanda Arrington, faculty pianist, also will be featured. The Wind Ensemble is under the direction of Frank Tracz, director of bands.

The Blue Valley Northwest High School Wind Ensemble will perform works by Holst, Perrine and Grainger. The Blue Valley Northwest band program consists of more than 240 student musicians and offers four concert bands, three jazz bands, the Howlin’ Husky Marching Band, Color Guard and the Dawghouse Basketball Pep Band. The ensemble is under the direction of Adam Lundine and Melissa Askren, both 2011 graduates of K-State.
