From 2:30-3:30 p.m. Dec. 1 in Hale Library's Hemisphere Room, Tosha Sampson-Choma, assistant professor of English, and Sue Zschoche, professor emeritus of history, will present the last in a series of lectures discussing materials included in the Remnant Trust's "Wisdom of the Ages" exhibit.

Following the lecture, guests can visit the exhibit on the second floor to handle items in the exhibit.

Sampson-Choma, who teaches African American literature, will present a talk on Booker T. Washington. A 1901 edition of "Up From Slavery" is in the exhibit, which was printed the same year as the first edition.

Zschoche, who specializes in U.S. women's history, will discuss Mary Wollstonecraft's ideas and how they grew out her life experiences. A 1792 first edition of "A Vindication of the Rights of Woman" is included in the exhibit.

The exhibit is on loan from the Remnant Trust, a public educational foundation. The Remnant Trust shares its growing collection on the topics of individual liberty and human dignity through traveling exhibits. "Wisdom of the Ages" will be available on the second floor of Hale Library through Dec. 15. To see a full list of items in the exhibit visit lib.ksu.edu/events.

K-State librarians are available from 11 a.m. to noon and 2-3 p.m. Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, to assist visitors who would like the unique opportunity to handle and read the books. Additionally, teachers and community groups who would like to bring a class to "Wisdom of the Ages" are welcome to make an appointment with a librarian by emailing libexhibits@k-state.edu

"Wisdom of the Ages" is made possible by the K-State Office of the President.
