Military affairs director to present research to senior defense leaders

Submitted by Art DeGroat

Retired Army Lt. Col. Art DeGroat, executive director of military and veterans affairs, has been invited by the U.S. Assistant Secretary of Defense for Manpower and Reserve Affairs to make a presentation of his doctoral research findings on "Re-conceptualizing the Life Event of Veterans Transition: Toward a Deeper Understanding."

DeGroat will travel to Washington, D.C., as guest of the Defense Department on Jan. 18, 2017, to make this presentation and meet with senior policy officials interested in reforming veterans transition assistance programming nationwide.

DeGroat also recently established the K-State Military Affairs Innovation Center at the K-State Office Park to enable expansion of this work at the regional and national level.
