Vattier Street reopens, Lovers Lane to close July 5

Submitted by Jack Carlson

Vattier Street and a portion of A3 parking lot north of Vattier will reopen at 6:30 a.m. July 5. Butterfly Lane will remain closed until mid-October for the continued installation of the chilled water piping.

Lovers Lane and Mid-Campus Drive from north of Anderson Hall to Lovers Lane will close at 6:30 a.m. July 5. At the intersection at Lovers Lane and Mid-Campus Drive, underground pipeline trench work will continue through this intersection to Butterfly Lane. As this intersection is being replaced, a roundabout will be constructed to direct traffic to Lovers Lane or onto Butterfly Lane. This roundabout will include an entrance gate defining the entrance onto the new Mid-Campus pedestrian mall, which also will feature the large ponderosa pine tree currently in that intersection. This work is expected to be completed in mid-October.

The closed portion of Mid-Campus Drive just northeast of Anderson Hall and south of Holton Hall will necessitate the relocation of the accessible parking near Holton Hall to A6 parking lot and to the McCain Auditorium circle. The parking spaces immediately east of Anderson Hall will remain available, and for the duration of the construction this short portion of Mid-Campus Drive will temporarily change from one-way northbound to a two-way street, allowing entry and exiting from these parking spaces.
