Emotional Intelligence Workshop offered in December
Implementing discipline over our emotional life is difficult and requires lifelong practice. Being able to choose to act or respond in a particular manner is preferable to reacting on a consistent basis, yet it is difficult.
Learning and Development has partnered with ComPsych, K-State's employee assistance provider, to offer the training session Emotional Intelligence, WTD303, from 9-10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 10, in the K-State Student Union's Cottonwood Room.
Enhancing emotional intelligence improves our ability to master our emotional functioning. High emotional intelligence can improve our communications with all others, enhance our perception of satisfaction with ourselves and our lives and increase our productiveness overall. This workshop discusses the benefits and components to emotional intelligence, ways of assessing your emotional intelligence, and strategies for improving emotional intelligence.
There is no charge to participants, but registration is necessary to ensure adequate seating and materials. Participants my register through HRIS Self_Enrollment or by sending an email to email@example.com.
This session also will be offered via webinar from 2-3 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 17. The webinar will be recorded so if employees happen to miss it, they can view it when it works best for them. To register for the webinar or to receive a link for the recorded training at a later time, please register for the Emotional Intelligence webinar.
Employees who attend the training session or view the live webinar are eligible for one HealthQuest credit. HealthQuest is the wellness program for state of Kansas employees and members of the State Employee Health Plan. The Learning and Development office will work with ComPsych to ensure appropriate credit is given to employees.
