Free online training to help veterans on campus

Submitted by Dorinda J. Lambert

Great news! The new online virtual training, Veterans on Campus, is now available to you for free as a K-State faculty/staff or SafeZone ally. It can increase your skills as you work with the veterans who are enrolling in classes in increasing numbers. Please take advantage of the free at-risk online training to hone your skills in assisting students.

It's great timing. Prior to the start of the next semester, when you have more time to prepare for the next term, you can complete this brief program. Increase your skill and confidence  by completing this training. It takes about 35 minutes. When done, you will be able to print out a certificate of completion as well as two great resource sheets that will be useful to you in the future.

It's easy to start. You can log into the course by entering in your information at this page: https://voc.kognito.com/ and use enrollment key ksu61 when creating your account. When you create your new account for the Veterans course, please use your K-State email address and whatever password that you used before with an earlier Kognito training or you can choose a new password. Just write it down so you will remember it in case you return to review the Veterans on Campus training later. You cannot log into the Veterans on Campus course using a previously created account with Kognito. Please use this training as soon as possible; the license  for this veterans course will be available until November 2012.

If you have not yet taken the general at-risk course, you can still do that, too. Please click the following link and create your account using your K-State email address:   http://aruf.kognito.com; if you do not use your  school email address, you will need to also use this enrollment key: ksu61

Counseling services, the office of student life and the SafeZone program are pleased to be able to offer this training to you. Please contact me if you have questions about the program but if you have technical concerns about the program, please contact support@kognito.com.
