North campus corridor stakeholder meetings begin Monday

By The North Campus Corridor Master Plan Task Force

Dear K-State Community,

On Monday, Dec. 8, and Tuesday, Dec. 9, nine stakeholder meetings will be held on campus to discuss development of Kansas State University's north campus area as part of the North Campus Corridor Master Plan. The goal of the North Campus Corridor Master Plan is to define and strengthen the area's sense of purpose and sense of place stemming from the physical environment offered by Kansas State University, and integrate the university's research facilities, infrastructure and open space to create a sustainable learning, research and residential community for K-State.

At these meetings, representatives from Perkins+Will, our North Campus Corridor planning consultants, will facilitate a discussion with stakeholders regarding their vision for the north campus corridor as a bioscience-focused research nexus in Manhattan as well as the corridor's growth and integration into the community. The stakeholder meetings will include representatives from academics, research, students, student life, parking and transportation, K-State Athletics, the Kansas State University Foundation, government partners, community partners and corporate partners.

Though we will not have an open campus meeting as part of this visit by our Perkins+Will consultants, we do want to invite anyone who has an interest to attend the community stakeholder meeting, which will be from 5:30-7 p.m. Monday, Dec. 8, in the Flint Hills Room of the K-State Student Union.

Sincerely,

The North Campus Corridor Master Plan Task Force
