Western Kansas Percussion Festival

Submitted by Kurt Gartner

In partnership with C. Alan Publications, the Kansas State University percussion studio faculty and students will be coaching and performing for young percussionists at Dodge City High School on March 8. Kurt Gartner, professor, will be joined by Cort McClaren, owner of C. Alan Publications, and percussionist/composer Nathan Daughtrey in working with young percussion students and presenting clinic sessions.

The event will include performances by K-State Percussion Ensembles — both on site and via video conference. And, members of the K-State Percussion Ensemble Gartner will accompany Daughtrey, who will perform as marimba soloist on his composition "Halcyon Days."
