The Pollution Prevention Institute was founded in 1995. Located in engineering extension, it is part of the College of Engineering. The institute is funded in part by the Kansas Department of Health and Environment to operate the Small Business Environmental Assistance Program. This program provides free, confidential, environmental compliance to Kansas small businesses. Through the program, small businesses can also receive pollution prevention assistance and training.
