Midwest Equity Assistance Center
The Midwest Equity Assistance Center was established in 1978, and is a component of the College of Education. The center is one of 10 regional equity assistance centers in the country and serves a four state region Iowa, Kansas, Missouri and Nebraska.
The Midwest Equity Assistance Center is funded by the U.S. Department of Education under Title IV of the 1964 Civil Rights act. The center provides a variety of services at the request of public school districts including workshops, seminars, conferences, in-service training, technical assistance and information distribution.
The Midwest Equity Assistance Center works to meet the needs of each school district. Through professional development, the center works to increase parental and community involvement, assessment and development of a multicultural curriculum, providing leadership skills for students and teaching strategies for instructors.
