Promotions for 63, tenure for 40 Kansas State University faculty members

MANHATTAN — Sixty-three Kansas State University faculty members are receiving promotions in rank, while 40 faculty members are earning tenure.

The promotions include 24 faculty members to the rank of full professor, 39 faculty members to the rank of associate professor with tenure and one associate professor was granted tenure. The promotions and tenure go into effect at the start of the university's 2015 fiscal year on June 8.

Earning promotion to full professor are:Patricia Ackerman, arts, sciences and business; Katsura Asano, biology; Gary Brase, psychological sciences; Fred Burrack, music, theatre, and dance, and assessment office; Bongsug Chae, management; Kathy Brockway, arts, sciences and business; Geraldine Craig, art; Sunanda Dissanayake, civil engineering; Bill Dunn, mechanical and nuclear engineering; Asad Esmaeily, civil engineering; Philip Gayle, economics; Fred Guzek, arts, sciences and business; Stacy Hutchinson, biological and agricultural engineering; Takashi Ito, chemistry; Rhonda Janke, horticulture, forestry and recreation resources; Kimberly Kramer, architectural engineering and construction science; Laszlo Kulcsar, sociology, anthropology and social work; Melody LeHew, apparel, textiles, and interior design; Max Lu, geography; Mitchell Neilsen, computing and information sciences; Lorena Passarelli, biology; David Renter, diagnostic medicine/pathobiology; Alysia Starkey, K-State Salina library; and Anna Zolkiewska, biochemistry and molecular biophysics.
